Museum complex "Road of Memory" (Russian: Музейный комплекс Дорога памяти) is a multimedia complex, located in Patriot Park, in Kubinka.[1]

This large-scale historical project is dedicated to the events of World War II.

About the project

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation has implemented a construction plan in Patriot Park as part of the list of instructions approved by the President of Russia to improve measures aimed at perpetuating the memory of those who died defending their motherland. The construction of the complex began in 2018.[2]

Museum

The memorial Road Museum complex was built on the territory of Patriot Park around Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces. The length of the Museum complex is 1418 steps, in memory of the 1418 days of the Great Patriotic War, during which the fighting took place.[3]

The Museum has 35 themed rooms, among which 27 are immersive in depictions of episodes of World War II, and along the wall stretches a 34,412,632-image gallery of photos of the participants, and in some places stands are installed with search queries for the last names of the participants of the war.

Unique exposition

4360 items were transferred from the main Museum Fund to create the exhibition, including 323 battle banners of famous units. Historical demilitarized weapons are also part of the exposition. Among them are tobacco pouches, field bags, helmets, cigarette cases, knives and caps.

The Museum also has other unique items: Adolf Hitler's tunic and boots, a souvenir globe – a gift to Hitler from Benito Mussolini, keys to one of the rooms of the Reichstag building and the Royal Palace in Budapest.

The main element of the "road of memory" is the photo gallery "river of memory" with information about front-line soldiers, partisans, residents of besieged Leningrad, home front workers and many defenders of their motherland.[4]
