Rob Halligan is a British singer-songwriter based in Coventry.

He grew up on the south coast of England, and first learnt to play guitar after a road accident which caused him to spend six months in hospital.[1]

Halligan's father was killed in the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Centre,[2][3] after this he gave up his job to concentrate on music with the aim of using it to make a positive difference. He has since featured on various radio and TV shows[4][5] as part of discussions around the September 11 attacks and strives to be a voice for reconciliation and peace.

Music career

Over the years, Halligan has worked alongside various other established artists from around the world including his unrelated United States namesake Bob Halligan Jr. and Paul Evan (Delirious?).[6]

In 2008, Halligan teamed up with After the Fire for their Autumn tour as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist. He continues to perform with the band on their annual tours[7] and members of the band often support him at his gigs.

The last six of Halligan's albums have been recorded at The Foundry Music Lab with Graeme Duffin and Sandy Jones of Wet Wet Wet. Halligan has also toured with Duffin.

Although never playlisted, various of Halligan's songs have featured on BBC radio shows.[8] and is regularly featured on Cross Rhythms[9] As well as his solo tours, Halligan has run workshops or played at some of the UK's largest Christian festivals including Greenbelt Festival[10] and Spring Harvest.[11][dead link]

During 2017, Halligan toured the UK with Adrian Plass and featured on various of his tour dates.[12][13]

Charity work

In addition to his music, Halligan is also involved with a number of charitable causes. Until early 2018 he was a manager at a Coventry drop-in centre[14] and he has been a supporter of Global Care since 2004.[15][16] He has released various albums and singles to raise money for these and other charitable causes.[17][18]
