Rodrigo Hernando González (born 16 January 1982) is a Spanish football manager, currently in charge of CD Izarra.

Coaching career[edit]

Born in Burgos, Hernando moved to Málaga at the age of 13 and joined Málaga CF in 2009, shortly after acquiring his UEFA Pro license, to become the club's youth manager.[1] In August 2014 he moved abroad, joining Míchel Salgado's Spanish Soccer School in Dubai.[2]

In July 2016, Hernando was appointed manager of Mongolia Premier League side Ulaanbaatar City FC,[3] becoming the first Spanish manager in the league's history.[1] He left the club in October, and joined G.D. Estoril Praia's staff in December, as Pedro Gómez Carmona's assistant.[4]

Hernando left Estoril in March 2017, as Carmona was dismissed.[5] In May, he switched teams and countries again, joining Finland's Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho as an assistant coach for a trial period.[6]

On 23 October 2017, Hernando was appointed manager of Segunda División B strugglers Peña Sport FC.[7] Despite improving the team's performances, he failed to avoid relegation at the end of the season.

On 13 June 2018, Hernando was named at the helm of fellow third division side CD Izarra.[8]
