Roger Wakefield (born August 10, 1963) is an American entrepreneur, social media personality, and podcaster. He is the owner of Richardson-based Texas Green Plumbing, a residential plumbing company.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Wakefield studied plumbing and earned the title of Master Plumber. He earned a Master license in Medical Gas, Water Supply Protection Specialist, Multipurpose Residential Fire Protection Sprinkler Specialist, and Responsible Master Plumber. Wakefield became an Accredited Professional (AP) of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBCI).

Entrepreneur[edit]

In 1980, at 16 years of age, Wakefield managed a fast-food restaurant. He later started plumbing as a profession at a Wells Fargo addition in Lakewood. He worked at Garland building apartments and condominiums and then started working as a residential service plumber. He left plumbing and became a hairstylist and massage therapist for a short period.

In 1997, Wakefield joined the United Association Union of Plumbers, Fitters, Welders, and Service Technicians. After completion of his studies, he worked for the union as a Journeyman Plumber. Over the years, Wakefield served as a foreman, superintendent, and quality control manager. He was later promoted to the position of Director of Operations for a mechanical contractor in DFW and Austin. In 2013, he established Texas Green Plumbing. In 2015, he left his designation as Director of Operations to dedicate his full time to Texas Green Plumbing.

Wakefield is the co-founder of Residential Service Group, LLC, and a regional partner of Master Networks Texas, in Houston.

Wakefield gave a keynote speech at VidCon, an annual conference in Anaheim, California.[1] He runs a podcast titled, The Trade Talks, and has also appeared on podcasts including 365 Driven,[2] Massive Agent,[3] and Around The House with Eric G.[4]

Social media[edit]

Wakefield runs a YouTube channel with educational plumbing tutorials for homeowners, and has tutorial streams about plumbing and other diverse businesses on LinkedIn.[1] He is the creator of The Trade Talks Magazine,[5] and has a YouTube channel with the same name.

Wakefield’s recent projects include Plumb Study, an online course for plumbers, and Make Your Phone Ring, an online course for business owners using social media.[6]
