Ronald L. Vaughn is an educaional administrator, business and marketing expert serving currently as the president of the University of Tampa since 1995.[1][2]

Educations

He holds a bachelor's degree of marketing in 1968 and MBA of marketing in 1970 both at the Indiana State University, he obtained his PhD from the University of Georgia in 1975 and Harvard University Institute for Educational Management in 1994.[3]

Career

Vaughn was a consultant of marketing and business in his own small multi-office company.

Vaughn began his academic career at the Bradley University as a member in the faculty of marketing before joining the University of Tampa in 1984 as a coordinator in the department of Marketing and later was the Max H. Hollingsworth Endowed Chair of American Enterprise. He served as a director of the Masters of Business Administration program and dean of College of Business and Graduate Studies.[4][5]

Vaughn had attended many workshops and international business topics.[6]

Since his appointed, he had served various board of such includes; the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Florida Aquarium, Gulf Ridge Council of Boy Scouts and the Performing Arts Center, and he had lead in various leadership positions in many organization which amongst includes;[6]

  • President of the Tampa Bay Chapter of The Planning Forum,
  • Chairman of the American Red Cross Tampa Bay Chapter,
  • President of the Florida West Coast Chapter of the American Marketing Association,
  • Chairman of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida and president of the Sunshine State Athletic Conference.

Awards

Since being a member in Leadership of Tampa Bay, Florida Council of 100, Leadership Tampa and Leadership Florida. His highly respected and recognition in Tampa Bay community earned him many honors and awards in many years. In 2013 he was list at the University of Georgia, President’s Award for the 2019 list of Florida 500 most influential business leaders in Florida Trend magazine and Outstanding Eagle Scout Award from the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.[7][8]

Leadership of Tempa University

Vaughn had worked for up to 35 and in the administrative leadership positions. Vaughn was since in 1995 the president of the University being the longest holder of the position.[9][10]
