Rowdysim (Arabic: شغب; original title: Shaghab)[1] is a book was published in 2011, issued by the Tawa Publishing and Media House. Written by Fisal Al-Amer, it was banned from publishing in Saudi Arabia.

Content[edit]

The book [2]is divided into four chapters, and contains thirty-seven texts as follows:

“Nostology” (Original title: Nistalujya), under which several texts fall, including: “And..War” (Original title: wa..harb), “Red self” (Original title:Dhat’ahmar), “Concerning stabilization” (Original title:Bisha’n Al-iaistitbab). And as for the second chapter, which was titled as “Street Talk” (Original title:Kalam Shawariea), contains: “Wake up they are lying to you” (Original title: As=istayqiz ‘iinahum yakdhibun ealayk), “The illusion of virtue”: “Vice” (Original title:Radhilah), “Surat Al-Faqah”, and in the third chapter: “Security and safety” (Original title:’Amn wa’aman), “They made me a corgia” (Original title:Jaealuni Kurjia). And the last section was titled “A much popular café for a good little citizen” (Original title:Maqha shaebe kathiran limuatin salih qlylaan), and it contains twelve texts, including: “The Unkowing” (Original title: Aladhin la yadurun), “The Reformist” (Original title:Al’iislahi), “Dog” (Original title:Kalb), “Republic Brother President” (Original title:Jumhuriat al’akh alrayiys).

Ban[edit]

The Ministry of Culture and Information ban the publication of the book in Saudi Arabia. And the reason why was in the book name “Rowdysim” (Original title: Shaghab), which come during the revolutions happened in 2011, according to what was stated by Faisal Al-Amer[3] on the illuminations program with Turki Al-Dakhil on Al-Arabiya channel.
