Rusif Shakir oglu Huseynov (Azerbaijani: Rusif Şakir oğlu Hüseynov; 24 August 1987) is an Azerbaijani researcher[1][2] and political expert.[3][4] He is the co-founder and director of the Topchubashov Center,[5] as well as the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Politicon online political magazine.[6] Huseynov's main interests are socio-political processes in Post-Soviet states, frozen conflicts, and ethnic minorities. His research regions cover mainly Eastern Europe, the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia.[7][8]
Life[edit]
Rusif Huseynov was born on 24 August 1987, in Sahil, Azerbaijan SSR. He was admitted to Baku State University in 2004 and graduated in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in international relations.[9] Huseynov received his master's degree from the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies[10] at the University of Tartu.[11]
Huseynov established the Topchubashov Center in April 2018 together with Murad Muradov.[12] The centre operates within the Regional Studies Public Union in Baku.[13]
