Ruth Marini
Ruth Marini (born 18 August 1984) is an Indonesian actress and lecturer. She is best known for her role as Sinto Gendeng in 212 Warrior (2018) which earned her nominations at several film festivals.

Early life and education
Marini was born on 18 August 1984 in Bandar Lampung, Lampung, and was raised there.[1][2][3][4] She graduated from SMA Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung and University of Lampung majoring in biology.[2][3][4] Marini started to act when still in the 10th grade and Perempuan-Perempuan Kesepian is her first performance when still at Lampung.[4]
Career
Marini started her career when she joined the Teater Satu Lampung community in 1999 in which she built her talent to the fullest.[2][3] After 15 years career at Teater Satu Lampung, she decided to leave.[2][3] Marini then moved to Jakarta and founded Sanggar Aktor Cilik Indonesia in 2016.[2][3][4] She also worked as a lecturer at Sekolah Tinggi Hukum Jakarta.[2][3] Marini started her career in film industry as a film star.[1] She made her film debut in May the Devil Take You (2018) as a shaman and later starred in 212 Warrior (2018) as Sinto Gendeng after passing the casting in which she acted alongside famous actors, such as Vino G. Bastian, Sherina Munaf, Marsha Timothy, and Lukman Sardi, and gained her a wide attention in Indonesia.[1][2][3][4] Marini was chosen for the role because of her laughter, which is just from reading the script, she is able to create the laughter of an 80 year old grandmother beautifully.[2][4] To play Sinto Gendeng, she had to wear prosthetic makeup for 8 hours during each shoot which took place in Ciwidey.[2] Marini later starred in a short film titled Ballad of Blood and Two White Buckets (2018) which earned an award as an international selection at 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in 2018.[4] Apart from starring in a film, Marini also starred in web series, such as Sementara, Selamanya (2020), Titisan: Thalia Pewaris Tahta Iblis (2020), Detektif Soleh (2021), and Layangan Putus (2021).[1]
