Ryan Joseph Long is an American actor, YouTuber, designer, engineer, and thinker. He is best known for his YouTube Channel "Hodgepodge". Named after the Hodgepodge of content that is featured on his channel.
Early life[edit]
Ryan Joseph Long was born in Syracuse, New York, the son of Ronald S. Long and Jill A. Long. As a child, Ryan enjoyed playing with Legos and the family camcorder. In his teens, Ryan spent most of his time expressing his angst through drawings and had developed advanced drawing skills by his senior year of Highschool. His mother (a Syracuse University alumna and employee) encouraged Ryan to attend Syracuse University and put his drawing skills and love of making things to use by studying industrial design.
Career[edit]
He began his career as a YouTuber in 2012 after meeting and making friends with popular YouTuber Matt Kobuzio known on YouTube as McSportzHawk. After garnering 1.3 million views over the first 5 years of his YouTube career Long was encouraged by friends to pursue his acting and Voiceover career more professionally. Long was further motivated by the beginning of Syracuse's movie industry. In 2017 Syracuse had just begun its path to fame with the building of Onondaga County's Central New York Film Hub, a $14 million facility.[1]
Long appears in the 2018 feature film The Mountain (II) as a Bar Patron. Where he ordered a drink next to Jeff Goldblum. He also played the rolke of a Student, Sports Kid, Jock, Frog Man. In the movie Sid Is Dead Starring Joey Bragg, Tyler Alvares, Jack Griffo, Genevieve Hannelius, and others.[2]
Long's latest movie The Mental State occurred at Onondaga County CNY Film Hub and Nottingham Highschool this late 2018. Long appeared several times as a student and Carnival Patron in the movie which starred Alyssa Sutherland, Carly Pope, Bryan Greenberg, William R. Moses, and others.[3]
