S. O. Reza Moheimani (born 28 January 1967)[citation needed] is an Australian researcher, engineer and educator. He is a Professor and holds the James Von Ehr Distinguished Chair in Science and Technology[1] in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas with appointments in Systems Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering Departments. He is the founding Director of UTD Center for Atomically Precise Fabrication of Solid-State Quantum Devices and founder and Director of Laboratory for Dynamics and Control of Nanosystems.

Moheimani served as Editor-in-Chief of Mechatronics, 2016-2021.[2] He is a past associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, IEEE Transactions on Mechatronics and Control Engineering Practice. Prior to joining UT Dallas, he was a Professor and Australian Research Council Future Fellow at the University of Newcastle, Australia.

Education[edit]

Research[edit]

Moheimani's current research interests include applications of control and estimation in high-precision mechatronic systems, high-speed scanning probe microscopy and atomically precise manufacturing. He is leading a multidisciplinary effort to develop new tools and methods for fabrication of solid-state quantum devices with atomic precision based on ultra-high vacuum scanning tunneling microscope.
