Jéden Sekhi Myrick, professionally known as SEKHI, is an American pop singer, songwriter, and record producer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the founder of independent label Myrick Music Group and collaborates with engineer Don’ Groove, noted for engineering the Billboard-charting single "Billie Eilish" by rapper Armani White. SEKHI has also been featured in promotional visuals reposted by Def Jam Recordings.
Early life and education
Born November 3, 2000, in Philadelphia, SEKHI graduated from KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy.[1] He later enrolled at Neumann University in Aston, Pennsylvania, but did not complete his degree.
Career
2020–2021: Early singles and debut EP
SEKHI began releasing music in 2020 with the singles "WIDE AWAKE" and "I’M DONE." His debut EP, THE SEKHI EFFECT, was released in August 2021, showcasing a blend of pop and R&B with introspective lyricism.
2022–2023: Breakthrough mixtapes and online recognition
In 2022, he released his first mixtape SEKHI RADIO, which was featured by IAHHM blogs.[2] His second mixtape, WELCOME HOME, SEKHI, followed in July 2023 and included the singles "PARIS (Wake Up)" and "LIAR", receiving coverage from Talk of the Town.[3]
On his 23rd birthday (November 3, 2023), he released WELCOME HOME, SEKHI (Complete Edition), featuring the new single "KEEP GOING".
