Early life[edit]

Born to a Swedish mother and Greek father, Svea began her musical journey at the age of 10 or 11, posting covers on Youtube. After having been discovered by producers, she was introduced to an A&R at Universal Music Sweden where she signed a record deal on her 18th birthday.[1] Svea studied at Rytmus Musikgymnasium in Stockholm, much like alumni Tove Lo, Robyn and Icona Pop.

Career[edit]

SVEA released her debut single ”Don't Mind Me” the same day (June 8th) as she graduated from high school. ”Don't Mind Me” climbed the Swedish Spotify Viral charts and made headlines due to the fact that the song is about female self-pleasure and sexuality.[2] In 2019, she released her 7-track EP ”This Is” which was acknowledged by international media outlets.[3][4][5] In January 2019 she released the single ”Complicated” with Danish singer Alexander Oscar. ”Complicated” was number 16 on Spotify Denmark’s Top Charts, is certified Platinum in Denmark, Gold in Norway and has been performed on The X Factor. [6][7] On June 15th, SVEA performed at Brilliant Minds, an international conference arranged by Spotify founder Daniel Ek and manager Ash Pournouri.[8] Speakers that year included Barack Obama, Greta Thunberg and Naomi Campbell.[9] In fall of 2019, Svea supported Picture This on both the UK and Germany leg of their tour, resulting in 13 shows.[10] In 2020, SVEA released her second EP titled ”Pity Party”.[11] Svea co-wrote Swedish-American singer Rhys’ single ‘We Don't Talk Anyway’ made exclusively for Spotify Studios “It's Hits” recording.[12]
