Sachin Mote is an Indian Film, Television and Drama writer, producer, and actor. He is well known as the writer of the Marathi language play Ek Dav Bhatacha, Television shows like Fu Bai Fu, Comedichi Bullet Train, Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra, and Hindi TV show R.K.Laxman ki Duniya and Marathi Films like Masta Chalalay Aamcha, Khari Biscuit, and Mogara Phulala. Till now he has written 7 Marathi films, 8 Marathi commercial Plays, 30 Marathi Fiction and Non-fiction Shows, 35 Special TV Award Shows.

Early life[edit]

Sachin Kamalakar Mote[1] was born in the Satara district of Maharashtra. He completed school Education in Anant English School, Satara. Higher secondary education in Yashvantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara and Diploma in Pharmacy at S.P.S. college. After that, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He participated in plays during college. In 1991, he took Drama Education Dramatics Course in Modern College, Pune organized by V. B. Deshpande and Devdatta Pathak. He also participated in the theatre workshops of Pt Satyadev Dubey organized by Maharashtriya Kalopasak. He did many one-act plays and State Drama Competitions in Satara and Pune.

Career[edit]

In 1997 he came to Mumbai. He has acted in commercial plays like Dev Pavle, Shantecha Karta Chalu Aahe, One Room Kitchen, Ashrunchi Jhali Phule. He has written one-act plays like Baghuya Kahi Sapadtay Ka, Braveheart, Mr. Dev Mhane, Panchakam. Panchakam won 1st prize in Indian National Theatre Competition in 2006. Sanecha Kahi Khara Nahi is his first commercial play as writer. (A Gujarathi play Gujjubhai Banyo Dabang was based on this play which got huge success in Gujarathi). After critic recognition of this commercial play, he wrote his notable play Ek Dav Bhatacha. This play got awards like Ma. Ta. Sanman 2006, Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad Baban Prabhu Puraskar, Sahitya Sangha Mandir Puraskar. It completed 450 shows and also got translated into Gujarathi. A Kannad film Idea Madyar, based on this play got good recognition. After that, he wrote a Marathi film Mast Chalalay Aamcha based on this play which got a good commercial success.

He has written plays like Aamchya Hicha Prakaran (Nominated as the best writer in Zee Comedy Awards 2017 and Zee Gaurav 2017), Gochi Premachi (Nominated as the best writer in Zee Gaurav 2009), Bajirao Mast Mi (Awarded as the best writer in Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad Puraskar) which go huge success. After playwriting, he also written television shows and episodes of various serials. He got fame as TV writer from Zee Marathis skit-based show Fu Bai Fu (TV series). He also wrote popular Marathi and Hindi Serials like R K Laxman Ki Duniya, Mrs. Tendulkar, Bha Se Bhade, Comedichi Bullet Train, Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra. He has also written Film and Television Award Show Events like Zee Gaurav Puraskar, Maharashtarcha Favorite Kon, Zee Marathi Awards, Unch Majha Zoka Awards[2]

He has written story screenplay and dialogues for Marathi films Khari Biscuit (got Radio city Best Screenplay Award) Mogra Phulaalaa[3], Mast Chalalay Aamcha[4], Pune Via Bihar[5], Daav Pech, Superstar

In 2014 he formed a new production house, Wetcloud Productions, with his friend Sachin Goswami. As producers, they produced serials like Comedichi Bullet Train[6], Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra[7], and web series like Liftman[8]. (Liftman has got best web series award in Zee Comedy Awards). Currently, he is a writer and producer of the Marathi show Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra[9] telecasting on Sony Marathi which has recently completed 700+ episodes. The marathi serial Post Office Ughade Aahe (40 episodes) is also produced by him for Sony Marathi and story and screenplay was also written by him under his Wetcloud Productions.

The new marathi serial Tuz Maaz Sapaan is currently telecasting on Sony Marathi, which is also produced under his Wetcloud Productions. He is also lyricist of the title track for Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra, Post Office Ughade Aahe, Tuz Maaz Sapaan serials.
