Sade Uddin Ahmed BSP, BUP, ndc, nswc, psc is a Bangladeshi 2 Star Air Force officer[1] who is serving as Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Maintenance)[2][3]. Prior to join here, he was Director of Engineering at Air Headquarter.

Career[edit]

Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Sade Uddin Ahmed is serving as ACAS (M) at Air Headquarters, Dhaka.[4] He was commissioned in Engineering Branch of Bangladesh Air Force on 02 Jul 1989 (02 Feb 1987 with ante date). He has served in different appointments related to Aviation maintenance in BAF Base Bashar (Dhaka), Birshreshtho Matiur Rahman (Jashore), Zahur (Chittagong) , Bangabandhu (Kurmitola) and Paharkanchanpur (Tangail). He has also served in Air Headquarters as Deputy Director as well as Director of Engineering and Deputy Air Secretary in the Air Secretary’s Branch which is responsible for posting and career of Bangladesh Air Force officers. He has also done instructional duties in almost all the training institute of BAF including Bangladesh Air Force Academy (BAFA), Officers Training School (OTS), Flight Safety Institute (FSI), Fighter Instructors School (FIS), Fighter Controller Training Unit (FCTU) and Training Wing. He has also served as Officer Commanding of Maintenance Wing of BAF Base Bashar, Officer Commanding of 214 Maintenance Repair & Overhauling (MRO) Unit (responsible for overhaul of F-7 series fighter aircraft overhaul) and Officer Commanding of 216 MRO Unit (responsible for Mi series helicopter overhaul). He attended number of courses at home and abroad. He did his Master of Science (MS) in Aeronautical Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He has developed his expertise in aircraft design, overhaul and maintenance. He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College and National Defence College, Mirpur, Dhaka. He is also a graduate of National Defence University (NDU) of Pakistan. He served as Contingent Engineering Officer in East Timor and DR Congo. He visited many countries across the globe. Sade Uddin also worked on Design and Development of Nano Satellites for Bangladesh[5]. AVM Sade has been awarded with “Bishisto Sheba Padak” (BSP) for his extraordinary performance and contribution.[6]

Early Life & Academics[edit]

The highly decorated officer AVM Sade Uddin Ahmed was born on 01 January 1965 in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. He passed SSC from Mymensingh Zilla School and HSC from Anandamohon College, Mymensingh. Before joining Bangladesh Air Force, the officer did his B.Sc in Mechanical engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology. After joining Air Force, he did his MS in Aeronautical Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics under Chinese scholarship.

Personal Life[edit]

Sade Uddin Ahmed is married to Salma Ahmed who is an Electrical engineer. The couple is blessed with two daughters.
