Sinha Md Rashed Khan (Bengali: সিনহা মোঃ রাশেদ খান; died 31 July 2020) Alias Major Sinha was a Major[1][2] in the Bangladesh Army[3] and He also served in the Special Security Force (SSF)[4][5] to protect Prime Minister of Bangladesh.[1][2] Who was murdered by Bangladesh Police.[6][7][4][8][9][10]
Personal life[edit]
Sinha had just become a Lieutenant when his father freedom fighter Ershad Khan, also a former deputy secretary Ministry of Finance, died in 2007.[5] He has two sisters. the elder sister English medium school teacher and the younger sister emigrated to the United States she worked for Amazon.[5]
Career[edit]
Sinha received a commission from the Bangladesh Army for a 51 BMA long course.[5] He voluntarily retired in 2018.
Death[edit]
On 31 July 2020 night, former Major Sinha Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at the Baharchara check post in Shamlapur UP on Marine drive Road in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.[11]
Reactions[edit]
The Prime Minister has assured a proper investigation into the murder of the retired army chief.[8] [12] Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said that no one will be spared in the case of the murder of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan. Action will be taken against those involved after receiving the investigation report.[9] [13] The Standing Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expressed concern over the July 31 shooting death of former army chief Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.[14]
