Saeed Tawfik (Arabic: سعيد توفيق) is an Egyptian writer born in Cairo on November 7, 1954.

He is a Professor of Aesthetics and Contemporary Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University.[1]

Biography[edit]

He obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the Department of Philosophy, College of literature, Cairo University in 1976 with a grade of very good, and a Doctorate in Philosophy with first honors in 1987, and he obtained a Master’s in Philosophy from the College of literature at Cairo University in 1983 with an excellent grade. He was a Former Professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy at the college of literature, Cairo University from February 12, 2009 until February 11, 2012, and he is the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture in Egypt from February 12, 2012 until May 30, 2013 (the date of his resignation) and from July 22, 2013 until June 23, 2014 (resigning again).[2]
