The Safal Workers' Street Committee, sometimes simply known as Safal,[1] is a group of independent Marxists that formed in Nepal in September 2025 as a decentralised collective to participate in the 2025 Nepalese protests.[2][3] Safal formed in response to violent crackdowns on the 2025 Nepalese Gen Z protests, which began over a social media ban and escalated into broader anti-corruption demonstrations.[4][5]
Safal was formed to address the deadly violence that occurred during the protests, which led to numerous deaths and injuries, particularly in Kathmandu.[6][7]
Demands
On 9 September, Safal announced a set of demands.[8][3] Their demands included:
1. Immediate arrest of the government as public enemies.
2. A People's Tribunal against all Public Enemies.
3. The disarming of the state, police, APF, and the Army.
4. The expropriation of all enemy property and citizenship.
5. General Arming of the Nepalese population.
6. The dissolution of parliament by an elected worker assembly.
7. General Strikes and demonstrations for the defense of the working class of Nepal.
