Safe@Last
SAFE@LAST is a registered charity working with and on behalf of young people at risk through running away. Founded by Hilary Massarella in June 2000, the charity is based at Dinnington which is part of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham.
As of 2015 Safe@Last has 26 staff members and many volunteers. Providing a 24-hour Helpline, a Missing Young People's service, a Preventative education programme, Detached Street Work Project, Family Support and, most notably, the only Refuge in the UK for children and young people who are 16 and under.
Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter is patron for the charity, having competed and won cash prizes on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and All Star Family Fortunes for Safe@Last[1]
