Sam Adeyemi (born 3 February 1967).[1] [2] [3][4] is the Senior Pastor[5] and Founder of Daystar Christian Centre, a megachurch in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a motivational speaker, author and the President of Daystar Leadership Academy and Success Power International.

Early Life[edit]

Samuel Adesanya Adeyemi was born in Ndayako near Mokwa in Niger State, Nigeria but hails from Odo-Ere[4] in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria.

Education[edit]

He studied Civil Engineering at the Kwara State Polytechnic, from which he obtained his Higher National Diploma (HND). He graduated from the University of Exeter in 2011 where with am MSc in Leadership Studies. Thereafter, he attended Regent University, Virginia, USA and obtained a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership in 2017.

Ministry[edit]

He began his ministry as a Pastor at the Rhema Chapel, where he served as Director of Pastoral Care and Minister in Charge[4] before being transferred to a branch in Lagos.

Daystar Christian Centre[edit]

On relocating to Lagos in 1994, he started his ministry by teaching on the radio. Thereafter, he inaugurated Daystar Christian Centre on 18 November 1995, on the 4th floor[6] of the Eko Chinese hotel on Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos[1][4]. Eventually, the Church got a warehouse at No 71 Oregun Road (now Kudirat Abiola Way), Lagos, which is where the headquarters of the Church is currently located[3]

Success Power International[edit]

In 1995, Sam Adeyemi founded Success Power International which reaches out via telecasts, radio broadcasts, seminars, audio-visual materials and books.

Daystar Leadership Academy[edit]

He founded Daystar Leadership Academy in January 2002. It is a non-profit Leadership and Management Development School, and over 20,000 students have graduated from the academy since inception.

Pneuma Publishing[edit]

This was registered as an information resource centre in 1995. Since then, it has grown into a publishing house and an info resource management and distribution organization.

Daystar Children Center[edit]

This was established as a non-profit organisation in September 2001.[3]

Personal Life[edit]

He is married to Pastor Adenike Adeyemi[6][7], an architect by training[3], whom met while he was a pastor at Rhema church[1]. They have three children, Sophie, David, and Toluwani[4] .
