Sam O'Nella Miller, (commonly known as just "Sam O'Nella") is an American comedic and educational youtuber from Delaware, Maryland[1]. Born sometime in 1998[1], most of his childhood is unknown. However, he has shared some experiences from his childhood on his YouTube channel, and his Reddit AMA. O'Nella studies Chemical engineering[2], as he mentioned in a video on his second account, Sam O'Nella Vlogs and also in an episode of the Official Podcast[3]. He most likely attends the University of Delaware, but this is unknown. According to his video entitled "Histories Worst Non-Water Floods[4], he is about 6'3" tall, and very skinny. He has been quoted as saying, "If you know me, then you know I'm leaner than lean."
Misc Samonellamiller Days[edit]
On October 27th, 2011, Sam created his first known YouTube account. This channel, called Misc Samonellamiller, mainly consisted of Shitposting, as well as some educational content, (The Legacy of Crispus is an example of early educational content) and some creative content, mostly school projects that he shared on the platform[5]. Misc Samonellamiller saw moderate success, at its peak earning 200 subscribers a week[6], but ultimately never achieved fame.
Creation of Sam O'Nella Academy[edit]
On June 16th, 2016, A video entitled "ANNOUNCEMENT: New, real channel"[7] was uploaded to Misc Samonellamiller. In this video, he shared the creation of his new Account, titled Sam O'Nella Academy. While this was the first public announcement of his channel's release, he had posted 4 videos before the creation of ANNOUNCEMENT. Sam continued to post videos on this account until his sudden disappearance on January 29th, 2020. At the time of his disappearance, he had reached just under 2 million subscribers[8]. This sudden absence from all social media (including twitter, reddit, and youtube) is known as "the dark ages" among his fans. This silence is broken every once in a while by a twitter post claiming that he will return to Youtube soon, but is very busy at the moment. The most recent contact from Sam was on September 18th, 2021, in a twitter post in which he said "oh yeah "Sam O'Nella Shorts" is a fraud btw, pls report". Since then, there has been no contact from him.
Razor Dildo Incident[edit]
In early 2021, a substitute teacher for Excel Academy in Sneyd Green received backlash for showing year 7 children a Sam O'Nella Academy[9] video entitled "Where religious symbols come from". According to Mirror.co.uk, "It was included as part of a lesson on religious symbols last week and showed two cartoon figures discussing the Taoist 'yin and yang' symbol and what the best and worst things in the world they could imagine were. One character thinks of a {Grilled Cheese} as the best thing in the world and a sex toy covered in razor blades as a depiction of something "evil"."[10] The video also other controversial imagery, such as a depiction of Jesus Christ reading a Playboy Magazine[11].
