Samona Susan Shields (born June 9, 1967), professionally known as Samantha Strong, is an American former pornographic actress. Her first scene was in the film Merry X-Miss.[3] She won the 1988 AVN Award for Best New Starlet[4] and for Best Actress in 1991.[1] Strong is an inductee in AVN Hall of Fame.[4] In 1993, the Miami New Times called Strong "sex incarnate."[5]

Career[edit]

Strong began her career in the 1980s, looking work as a model.[6][7] In 1991, she was awarded the "Best Actress" award by Adult Video News.[1] As of 1993, Strong toured the United States, performing at adult theaters.[5] In 1998, she was employed by Dennis Hof at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch.[6][7] At the Ranch, Strong's minimum was $1,000 a session.[6] At the height of her pornographic career, Strong was making an estimated $25,000 to $30,000 a week.[8][9]

Personal life[edit]

In the early 1990s, Strong was residing in Las Vegas, Nevada.[10] She was in a relationship with author and police informant Jimmy Keene, who aided the police in securing a confession from serial killer Larry Hall.[11][12]

In 1992, Strong was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Tucson, Arizona for alleged car theft in December 1990 after performing at a strip club in Winterhaven, California.[1] Prior the arrest, the undercover officer who arrested Strong and a US Marshall took a photograph with and of her. The officers paid $15 for a glossy photo of them with Strong and $10 for a Polaroid photograph of Strong wearing only a g-string, which were taken after her performance at a Tucson strip club. The police chief said that "I don't see any problem with an officer getting a photograph if he is arresting a celebrity....she's dress."[10]
