Samsung Galaxy S21 is a line of Android-based smartphones designed, developed, marketed, and manufactured by Samsung Electronics as part of its Galaxy S series. The first three models of the S21 was introduced at the Samsung Unpacked event held on January 14, 2021 while the FE model was introduced at the CES 2022 event held on January 3, 2022.
The S21 line consists of flagship Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ models differentiated primarily by screen size, the larger camera-focused Galaxy S21 Ultra model, and the budget follow-up Galaxy S21 FE model.
History
The title of the phone was originally presumed to be the Galaxy S21, due to it being the logical extension from the predecessor.[original research?]
Design
The Galaxy S21 series maintains a similar design with the Samsung Galaxy Note 20.
Specifications
Connectivity
Connectivity options have been improved with the implementation of 5G technology for all models. However, only Verizon models are compatible with ultra-fast millimeter-wave networks, and the audio jack has been omitted entirely.
Software
All phones now currently run on Android 12 and Samsung's custom skin One UI 4.1.
In February 2021, Samsung announced 4 years of software support for Galaxy S21 series.[1]
In June 2021, Samsung promises 5 years of software support for its Enterprise edition of the Galaxy S21 series.[2]
