Schultz-88

Schultz-88 (Russian: Шульц-88) was a Russian Neo Nazi group.[1]

In 2004, a trial was held against members of the neo-Nazi group Schultz-88, which operated in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region from April 2001 to March 2003. Members of the group attacked people of "non-Slavic" appearance, Jews and representatives of youth subcultures hostile to the NS-skinheads. Members of the group included Alexey Voevodin and Dmitry Borovikov, leaders of the NS-skinhead group Mad Crowd[1].[verification needed] The chief expert on the Schultz-88 case was the St. Petersburg scholar-ethnographer N. M. Girenko. He was murdered on June 19, 2004. During the trial, the jury of the St. Petersburg City Court found members of the Borovikov-Voyevodin gang ("Battle Terrorist Organization", BTO) guilty, including in the murder of Girenko. On June 14, 2011 the St. Petersburg City Court sentenced the ringleader Voevodin and another member of the group, Artyom Prokhorenko, to life imprisonment. Other members of the gang were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment[2].[verification needed][clarification needed]
