Scott A. Hoffinger (born 1959) is an American orthopedic surgeon who has practiced in both general and pediatric orthopedics since the early 1980s. His work includes the development of techniques for addressing limb‑length discrepancies. Hoffinger has also participated in international medical outreach.
Early life and education
Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Hoffinger graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1983.[1] He completed residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital, first in general surgery (1983–1985) and later in orthopedic surgery (1985–1988). He completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at University of California, Davis Health (1988–1989). Hoffinger later earned a Master’s degree in Innovation/Entrepreneurship from the London School of Economics in 2021 and completed a Fellowship in Medical Innovation at Stanford University’s Byers Center for Biodesign.[2]
