Michele R. D'Apuzzo

Michele R. D'Apuzzo (born February 11, 1976) is an American orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacements.[1] He serves as an associate professor at the University of Miami and is the Director for the Adult Reconstruction Fellowship Program.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Michele R. D'Apuzzo was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He obtained his medical degree from Central University of Venezuela and graduated with honors. He trained at Mayo Clinic for his internship in General Surgery and the first half of his residency in Orthopedic Surgery. During this time he also completed a research fellowship at the motion analysis laboratory. He then finished his residency at the University of Virginia and his fellowship in hip and knee replacements at Hospital for Special Surgery.

Certification[edit]

D'Apuzzo is Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery[3] and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
