Scott A. Lewis

Scott A. Lewis is the Sheriff at St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department (SCCSD) of Saint Charles County, Missouri (from January 1st, 2015)[1]. Prior to his appointment, Lewis worked both as Chief of Police and City Administrator[2] in the City of Cottleville, Missouri until he was elected as St. Charles County Sheriff in 2014[3].

Early life and education[edit]

Lewis graduated in the last ever class of Ft. Zumwalt High School, in 1986 before, heading off to Central Missouri State University (now University of Central Missouri) in Warrensburg, Missouri, to play football on a scholarship and study Criminal Justice[4].

Career[edit]

Scott worked for Wentzville Police Department and the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department from 1990 to 1997. In 1997, Lewis was hired as the Chief of Police for the City of Cottleville and then City Administrator in 1999. Lewis serves on the St. Charles Community College Foundation Board.[5]

Scott A. Lewis Park[edit]

Scott A Lewis Park[7], is a sixty five acre park[8] with two lakes, off Mid Rivers Mall Drive at Cottleville, Missouri, is named after Lewis who still continues to serve as Cottleville's City Historian[9].

Legal affairs[edit]

Officer Chad Brown sued the City of Cottleville, former Police Chief Scott Lewis on May 15, 2015, in Federal Court for constitutional violations and wrongful termination[10].

Personal life[edit]

Scott Lewis is married to Amy Lewis and they have three sons Kenneth, Alex and Adam.[11]
