Sean Cercone
Sean Cercone is an American actor, director and theatrical producer, Broadway and off-Broadway. He is the current President of Playscripts, Inc[1] and Broadway Licensing.[2]

He holds a BFA in Theatre from Frostburg State University and an MFA in Theatre from West Virginia University.[3][4]
Career[edit]
From 2003 - 2009, Cercone served as Producing Artistic Director of the Carousel in Akron, Ohio.[5] In 2011, Cercone was appointed Chief Business Officer at Theatrical Rights Worldwide, later serving as Senior Vice President of Professional and International Licensing.[6] In his role as Vice President, Cercone acquired marquee Broadway titles, such as Jersey Boys and Million Dollar Quartet, and spearheaded the global distribution of other major titles such as Monty Python's Spamalot, The Color Purple, and Memphis in productions across 69 countries.[7]
Theatre[edit]
Cercone was a part of the creative team for the re-development of Ghost: The Musical, which included Oscar-winning author Bruce Joel Rubin and Grammy Award winners Glen Ballard and David A. Stewart.[8] He also collaborated with Tony Award winner Richard Maltby Jr. on the re-development of Ring of Fire (Small Cast Version), and with Tony Award nominee and Grammy nominee John August on Big Fish (12-Chair Version). In 2016 - 2017, the newest musical adaptation of Saturday Night Fever (based on the 1977 hit film), which Cercone co-wrote with collaborator David Abbinanti, toured all around North America, South Africa, Italy, Brazil and Peru.[9]
Cercone has served on the board of the National Alliance of Musical Theaters, Co-Chaired of the NAMT New Musical Theatre Festival and served as Board President of the Cleveland Theatre Collective. Cercone was named to Crain's Business Top 40 Under 40.[10] [11] In 2017, Cercone was named President of Playscripts, Inc. and launched Broadway Licensing, a new stock and amateur licensing company. In 2018, Cercone co-wrote the play Beat Bugs: A Musical Adventure for Pantochino Productions with Abbinanti.[12]
