The Self-Published Science Fiction Competition (SPSFC) is an annual literary contest intended to bring greater visibility to self-published English-language science fiction authors.

The SPSFC has been operated since 2021 by author Hugh Howey[1] and Duncan Swan. The contest distributes about 300 novels submitted by the authors to ten (teams) of science fiction bloggers to review. Each team selects a their top rated book, which is then reviewed by all ten teams. The winner is the finalist with the highest average review score.

The contest has been credited with making high-quality self-published novels discoverable,[2] and with boosting the careers of the winners as well as expanding the reading habits of the judges[3].
