Senyo Amoaku (born 1979) is a Ghanaian-American actor, producer, writer and entrepreneur. He is known for his appearance in The Expendables (2010), directed by Sylvester Stallone, in which he played the “Tall Pirate.” Amoaku has also been involved in film production and creative entrepreneurship through his company, Eternal Vanguard Studios.[1]
Early life and background
Senyo Amoaku was born in 1979 and is of Ghanaian descent.[1] Although he has spent much of his career in the United States, Amoaku identifies strongly with his Ghanaian heritage. Before entering professional acting, he reportedly appeared in commercials and national brand campaigns for DiGiorno Pizza, EA Sports/Wii, and AOL.[2]

Amoaku began his professional film and television career in the mid-2000s. His major breakthrough came in 2010 when he appeared in the Hollywood ensemble action film The Expendables, directed by Sylvester Stallone. He portrayed the “Tall Pirate”, a physically imposing antagonist in the ensemble cast. [3] In 2015, Amoaku gave an interview in connection with the faith-based film Do You Believe?, in which he discussed his role and its parallels to his life. [4]
Production and entrepreneurship
Outside acting, Amoaku founded Eternal Vanguard Studios, a creative production and media company. [5] The company focuses on film development, digital storytelling and cultural innovation. Through this platform, Amoaku promotes cross-cultural narratives combining African heritage with global entertainment trends. He also works under the creative pseudonym “Grifon Aldren”, occasionally used in his music, writing and motivational media content.[6]
