Serhat Karaaslan (born June 13, 1986) is a Turkish film director. He is known for his first feature film Passed by Censor which was premiered as part of the 54th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. He is graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Pharmacy and then got his master's degree in Film and Drama Directing at Kadir Has University. Passed by Censor has been selected for Cannes Film Festival Cinefondation Residence 2015 and Berlin International Film Festival Project Market and Berlinale Talent Campus 2015 programme. The film was shown as the opening movie at the 24. Kerala International Film Festival and got 9 nominations in 52. SIYAD Turkey Cinema Awards.[1][2][3][4]
