Bahadır Karasu (born April 26, 1990 in Bandirma, Turkey) is a Turkish low-budget film maker. He began his cinema career in 2008 with his first experimental short film, titled Me.
He works in the film industry as a scriptwriter, videographer, post-production-production assistant and director. He also works with some international film-makers. In 2009, he attempted to create a group which aims to assemble young independent film-makers for supporting guerilla film-making with independent, avant-garde and auteur style visions as well as going against producer ruffianism. In 2012, he officially founded a production company named Pirana Film with his close friend.
In 2013 he made his first avant-garde, minimalistic short film Echo, telling the short moments through the human mind. Expectations and not knowing about the future with the affection of past, waiting is our unavoidable destiny. Facing with your destiny or results of your choices shape the life and causes a inexplicable chaos in mind.
In 2015, he co-directed his Spanish fantasy short film titled Un Pueblo Donde Dios No Existe (A Village Where God Does Not Exist) with Italian director Fabrizio Rossetti. It screened at the Barcelona Planet Film Festival in December 2015,[1] and was submitted to the monthly online event Los Angeles CineFest where it was part of the selection in January 2016.[2]
Artistic style[edit]
He generally use noir effect in his films. He always put the narrator on his film. He firstly select the film soundtracks then he writes his script while listening the soundtrack.. On his all films, editing,sound effects, visual effect and the other all stuff were done by him. He generally works on mystery,psychological thriller, and monolog style scripts. His short films thoroughly examine Human's psychology, stories always depict examining of depth human psychology. He claimed that he loves and following the Lars Von Trier, Darren Aronofosky, David Lynch, Woody Allen, Steeve McQueen's, Christoper Nolan's cinema but he also said that ; It's great to loving other's jobs but it's wrong wanting to be like them. Cinema is the thing about style and creativity and you have to be "you". You show to the people whatever your problems are with life by shooting twenty four times in a second in Cinema.
