Steven Adkins (born April 29, 1979) is an American retired professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, Seth Skyfire. He is best known for his appearances with the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) promotion in the mid-2000s.
Professional wrestling career[edit | edit source]
On October 12, 2005, Skyfire and Chet the Jet defeated "The Blonde Bombers" (Chad & John Toland) to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship which they would drop to Mike Mizanin and Chris Cage on February 8, 2006.
Skyfire began to team with CM Punk in mid-2006. On July 28, Skyfire and CM Punk defeated Shad Gaspard and the Neighborhoodie (later known as Cryme Tyme) to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship. Skyfire and Punk, between the two of them, held at the time all the titles in OVW and were the first wrestlers in OVW history to hold two championships at the same time. On August 3, 2006, they lost the Southern Tag Team Championship to Deuce Shade and "Domino" Cliff Compton (later Deuce 'n Domino). Skyfire defeated Charles "The Hammer" Evans to win his second OVW Television Championship under a mask, using the nickname El Aero Fuego. He would later lose the title to Bad Kompany (Mike Kruel, "Bad Seed" Shawn Osbourne and Milena Roucka), who held the belt under the Freebird Rule.
He was one of seven developmental wrestlers to be released by WWE in early 2007. In February 2007, Seth Skyfire returned to Global Championship Wrestling, and later returned to OVW. Seth continued to wrestle in OVW and worked some Ring of Honor shows before retiring from wrestling. He currently works as a trainer at the Millenium Wrestling Academy. He appeared in the documentary Haus of Pain.
