Seven Screen Studios is an Indian film production and distribution company headed by S. S. Lalit Kumar was established in 2018.

History[edit]

Seven Screen Studios was set up by Lalit Kumar in 2018 and produced its first film Asuravadham which did a moderate business upon release.[1] The same year, Lalit Kumar distributed the romantic drama film '96 starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha in lead roles and directed by C. Prem Kumar. The film ran for 100 days in theatres and became a profitable venture for the studio.[2][3]

In January 2020, the company acquired the distribution rights of the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directorial Master starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi.[4][5] The film which was scheduled for theatrical release on 9 April 2020 was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, eventually being released on 13 January 2021 and became a blockbuster at the box office.[6] The studio's upcoming projects include Cobra,[7] Tughlaq Durbar,[8][9] Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal[10] and Chiyaan 60.[11]
