Shaharon Anuar
SAC Datuk (Rtd) Shaharon Anuar bin Abdul Latif (born 1 August 1962) is a retired Malaysian police officer and actor.[1][2]
As an actor, he is famous for his role as SAC Saiful in the police drama series Gerak Khas where he starred from 1999 to 2001 and returned to his role in 2019.[3]
Early life
Shaharon Anuar was born in Taiping, Perak on 1 August 1962 to a family of rice farmers, having completed his education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Matang Road, before continuing his education at Izzuddin Shah School, Ipoh Perak. Shaharon Anuar then continued his Form Six studies at Institut Harapan, Taiping, Perak, obtaining a High School Certificate (STP). Shaharon Anuar had received an offer to continue his studies at a university, but he had to cancel that wish because he wanted to help his family. Before he became a police officer, he worked as general labour on oil palm plantations in Air Putih, Taiping; as contract labour at Taman Greenwood housing, Gombak; and as a security guard around the capital.[4][5]
Police career
Shaharon Anuar entered the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Center on 4 November 1984 and underwent basic training for six months, graduating as a Probationary Inspector in 1985. After graduation, he was posted to Kota Kinabalu Commercial Crime Investigation Department until 1989. Starting in 1990, Shaharon Anuar was assigned to Bukit Aman Public Relations Division until 2003.
Shaharon Anuar was promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Police in the same year and posted to Kuala Lumpur Commercial Crime Investigation Department. In 2005, he was promoted to Superintendent of Police and posted to Penang Commercial Crime Investigation Department. In 2012, he was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police and served as Batu Gajah District Police Chief.
Subsequently, he assumed the role of Head of Perak Management Department in 2015. In 2018, Shaharon was promoted to Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police and served as Principal Assistant Director of Management, Secretariat Division/Police Pensioners Affairs, Bukit Aman Management Department.[6] In 2019, Shaharon Anuar served as Head of Kuala Lumpur Management Department. Shaharon Anuar retired on 1 August 2022 with the rank of Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police.[7]
Acting career
Shaharon Anuar started his acting career as an Inspector and detective in the movie Kekasih Awal Dan Akhir and Pemburu Bayang, which were released in 1993.
