Shakir Subhan[2][3] (born April 10, 1991), also known as Mallu Traveler,[4] is an Indian Malayali travel vlogger and YouTube adventurer, who is notable for traveling to 34 countries before reaching the age of thirty.[citation needed]
Biography
Shakir Subhan[5][6] (Mallu Traveler)[7] [8]was born in Iritty, Kannur, Kerala to a middle-class family. He studied at Higher Secondary School, Iritty.
Personal life
Shakir Subhan's[9][10] first marriage failed, and he later married a woman named Balkees from Kasaragod, Kerala. He has two children, Rayan and Mazi.
Early life and Career
Shakir[11] [12]started several jobs at the age of 16 and worked for one year in Saudi Arabia and two years in the United Arab Emirates[13] as a merchandiser in an electronics shop, and started his YouTube channel 'Mallu Traveler' in October 2018. He decided by the age of twenty-seven that he wanted to explore the world. Shakir's first long travel was from Kerala to Nepal on a budget, plus hitchhiking.[14] He was on a solo road trip from Kerala to Europe with his bike,[15] but he temporarily stopped in Azerbaijan [16]his travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic and returned to Kerala.
YouTube
He launched his YouTube channel in 2018 and called it Mallu Traveler.[17] The latter shares his travel adventures, struggles and successes as a young male traveler, and the various cultures and ways of life around the world. One of his most viewed videos is മഞ്ചു വാര്യരുടെ കൂടെ ഒരു റൈഡ് / Ride With Actress Manju Warrier-Chathur mukham, [18][19][20] in which he recorded his 20-minute video with actress Manju Warrier.[21][22]
