Shankudeb Panda (born 31 July 1981, on the day of Janmashtami according to The Hindu Calendar) is a young political leader from West Bengal. He was the President of All India Trinamool Chattra Parishad during 2010–2015. He used his effective organisational skills to uproot Student Federation of India from most of the colleges of West Bengal. His charisma was such that TMCP, the student wing of All India Trinamool Congress, formed units in almost every college in West Bengal even before the party came to power in 2011. He later became the State General Secretary of All India Trinamool Congress and rose to be one of the most influential men of the party.[1]

Before joining politics, he conducted a sting operation on the then CPI MLA from Nandigram, Mohammed Iliyas, and he was caught on camera allegedly taking a bribe from an NGO. This sting operation was a breakthrough for the career of Shankudeb Panda.[2]

On 18 February 2019, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party at its headquarters in Delhi, where he was inducted by National General Secretary of BJP, Kailash Vijayvargiya[3] In a short span of time, he has become a close aide of Kailash Vijayvargiya. He is liked by many senior National leaders of BJP, such as Amit Shah himself, Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Dasgupta, and other eminent leaders. Bharatiya Janata Party has entrusted him with the task of inducting more and more youths into the Saffron Camp of West Bengal.[4]

Panda made his directorial debut in a Bengali film Comrade (2017 film) based on the incidents of Singur and Nandigram violence.[5]
