Uthaya Shankar Masilamani [1], better known as Shankz_Inc[2] is an independent Musician, Singer, Songwriter, lyricist, and Actor from Southeast-Asia. Shankz has collaborated on various music production projects in Malaysia since 2008 particularly in the Indian-Music scene for Radio & TV Broadcasting Networks, independent and mainstream artists, and has also launched his own Audio projects. In 2019, Shankz and a few of his fellow partners in Singapore formed Icon Records & Productions [3], an independent Record Label under the handle TheIconRecords[4]. Shankz is also a fulltime Senior Executive and corporate business professional for a large multinational organization in the telecommunications sector based in Southeast Asia. Music is his favorite pastime

Shankz spent his early years in the United States before moving back to Malaysia where he formally learnt music coaching & Theory at Yamaha Music and undertook Carnatic Vocal lessons. He began experimenting with music production tools like Fruity Loops (FL Studio), Hip-hop eJay, Cool-Edit-Pro (Adobe Audition now) and Garage band while studying in the United Kingdom in the early 2000 era, where he also performed at 'Keda Records' [5] under Kuljit Bhamra and was instrumental in the 2003 Birmingham Auditions UK, before finally moving back to Malaysia. He has since worked behind the scenes (mixing/making beats) for many local productions in Malaysia and is now on a mission to release his own songs & collaborate with similar artists to help promote & contribute towards the growth of the independent Artist/Music Scene.
