Shaoshan Liu
Shaoshan Liu founded visual intelligence company PerceptIn as a co-founder & Chairman in 2016.Shaoshan Liu is currently co-founder & Chairman of PerceptIn.Before founding PerceptIn in 2016, Liu was leading the autonomous driving system team as well as the deep learning infrastructure team at Baidu USA[1][2][3][4][5][6] and also a founding PMC member of the world-renowned open-source project Alluxio. Liu Holds a Ph.D. and a B.S. in computer engineering, both from University of California, Irvine. He is known for his work in autonomous driving and robotics and he is the lead author of the book Creating Autonomous Vehicle Systems, which is the first technical overview in autonomous driving. He has over 40 publications and over 30 patents in distributed computing as well as autonomous driving systems[7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14].He attended University of California, Irvine for his undergraduate and graduate studies and obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering in 2010, researching computer architecture, big data platforms, deep learning infrastructure and robotics. Before joining Baidu USA, he worked on big data platforms at LinkedIn, operating systems kernel at Microsoft, reconfigurable computing at Microsoft Research, GPU computing at INRIA (France), runtime systems at Intel Research, and hardware at Broadcom.[15][16][17]
