Shapermint is a US-based shapewear retail company. Shapermint’s purpose is centered around body confidence and female empowerment. The company operates online and is known to use Instagram and Facebook to gain earned media for its clothing by interacting with users and generating publicity through a mix of diverse influencers and regular customers[2]

History[edit]

Shapermint was founded in 2018 by the company Trafilea [3]. Its main offices are located in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay, but its main market is in the United States. The company has over 150 employees, 90% working remotely in different countries.

In 2018, with Harmon Brothers, they launched one of their best campaigns Titled “#AskVenus: Is Shapewear Body Positive?”[4]. In 2020 the company raised 100,000 for The American Nurses Foundation. In just four weeks, Shapermint was not only able to raise awareness among its community of over 4 million customers, it raised $100,000 with the help of everyday consumers who were able contribute as little as $10 to support frontline workers through the purchase of a mint green or white #WeAreInThisTogether solidarity band.[5]
