Background and Education[edit]
Ovissi was born in the Kurdish region of Iran. After completing her primary education she attended the prestigious School of Arts (Persian: دانشسرای هنر) as a boarder. Ovissi went on to gain her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Al Zahra University (Persian دانشگاه الزهرا) in Tehran. Thereafter, Ovissi gained a postgraduate Master of Research in Arts from Azad University (Persian: دانشگاه آزاد اسلامی).[1]

Artistic Style[edit]
Ovissi was classically trained and for many years the focus of her work was classical Persian miniature. Ovissi has worked with many mediums such as paint on canvas, metal etchings, Persian calligraphy, carving and silk screen printing. She has since developed her own style of contemporary art and her works are now classified as abstract expressionism/ action paining.[2] She now predominantly works with oils and acrylics on canvas and fabrics.[2]
Ovissi has exhibited in Tehran, London and Zurich and her art has been included in a collection curated by Saatchi Art.[1][2]
