Shreya Dev Dube
Shreya Dev Dube is a freelance Indian cinematographer based in Mumbai. She is the Director of Photography for Cat Sticks, a black and white feature film that was nominated for the Slamdance Film Festival.[1]
Personal life[edit]
She studied photography in Melbourne, post which she did a specialisation in cinematography at Eicar, Paris. She has had a passion for photography ever since childhood. In an interview, she said "I borrowed my fathers still camera when I was in school. There was so much happening that I could photograph. I lived with 600 girls in a boarding school and I had plenty of characters to take pictures of".[2][3]
She also drives inspiration from cinematographers like Christopher Doyle, Roger Deakins, Subrata Mitra, Santosh Sivan, Bradford Young.[4]
Career[edit]
She is primarily a cinematographer but has also directed and produced films. Her most recent work, Cat Sticks, a black and white feature length film won the Grand jury Prize in the Mammoth Lake Film Festival.[5]
She's worked as cinematographer in three films, Tear, Sleep, Cat Sticks. She's written, directed and produced Glass Bottom Boat. Her directorial debut was a film called Round Her Pure Forehead. She was also the co-producer of a short film Devi:Goddesses. [6]
Her projects from out of India include a number of names, Expiration date which was a SyFy TV production, directed by Richard Wyndham; Kasagod Boys, a documentary for a UK based director Vivek Vadoliya. She's also done additional cinematography for a HBO production called Chasing the sun, a short film for Seeds of peace and a PSA for rape awareness called JARR.[7]
