Simone Denise Beasant (born 13 November 1969),[1] formally Simone Vanderpump,[2] is an English chef, businesswoman, DJ, and agent. She is best known as the former private chef to Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York at Sunninghill Park from 1990 to 1992.

Early life[edit]

Simone Denise Beasant[1] was born in Brentwood, Essex, England on 13[3] November 1969,[4][2][5] as the second of three children to John M Beasant (born 1944)[6] and Valerie A Beasant[7] (née Golding; born 1946).[8] Her brothers are; Anthony John Beasant (born 1967)[9] and Timothy Ian Beasant (born 1976).[10]

Career[edit]

Career with the Yorks[edit]

Beasant began her career as the private chef to Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York at Sunninghill Park in 1990, at the age of 20. She walked out of her Berkshire job in 1992. Her time with the couple occurred during the break-up of their marriage in March 1992.[11] She was said to have left her job after a row.[12]

On 17 July 1993, it was reported that the Duchess of York had won a High Court injunction which restricted Beasant (then Vanderpump) from publishing details about her employment.[13] Like all employees of Britain's Royal family, Beasant agreed in writing never to reveal details about her employees' personal lives.[14][15][16]

On 18 July 1993, it was reported that Beasant had been paid more than £15,000[14][17][18] by Mirror Group Newspapers for her story. The Sunday Mirror were forced to scrap a five-page spread and cancel television advertisements.[11]

Other work[edit]

Beasant has worked as a DJ and entertainment agent at Managed Music Solutions since January 1998.[19]

Beasant founded vTunes (UK) Ltd in 1998. She served as the company director. The company was dissolved in August 2018.[20]

Beasant worked as a music consultant at Zeus Enterprises Ltd between October 2007 and November 2012.[21][22]

Beasant founded Duchess Cakes in September 2020.[23][24] The name was inspired by her time as the Duchess of York's chef.[25]

Beasant founded Music Management Simplified Limited in August 2023.[26][27][28]

Personal life[edit]

Beasant married Mark Jonathan Vanderpump (1959–2018),[29][30] a businessman and DJ,[31] in Westminster, London in February 1993.[32] They have two sons together; Jack Daniel Vanderpump (born 19 January 1994)[33] and Samuel Mark Vanderpump (born 8 March 1997),[34] both businessmen.[35][36] The couple later separated and their divorce was finalised in 2015.[37] Her legal name during this marriage was Simone Denise Vanderpump, later switching back to Beasant. Her ex-husband died by suicide in Gloucestershire on April 30, 2018. He was 59.[38][39] Her former sister-in-law is Lisa Vanderpump, a businesswoman and television personality, from the Bravo reality television series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules. Vanderpump mentioned her former sister-in-law on the E! reality television series Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump in April 2021.[40][41]

Beasant is in a relationship with Douglas F "Doug" Good (born 1965).[42][3] She is the stepmother of his three children.[43]
