Early Life and Education
Sina Port was born in Nuremberg, Germany, on 9 March 1994, to a mixed German and Afro-Indigenous family. Growing up in a Franconian village, she was exposed to diverse cultural influences. Her parents provided her with literature on Indigenous and African history, fostering an appreciation for her multifaceted heritage.[3]
Port holds a Master's degree in Global Digital Cultures from SOAS University of London, and a Bachelor's degree in International Business from Georg Simon Ohm University Nürnberg, including a semester abroad at the University of Malaya.[3]
Career
Port's interest in branding began during her teenage years when she promoted local sports clubs. While studying in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she established her first marketing agency, leveraging the country's diverse startup ecosystem to gain insights into cultural awareness in branding.[3]
As a Fortune 500 brand consultant, Port has collaborated with global brands including Adidas, BMW, and Google, leading campaigns such as the Adidas Hijab. Her work emphasizes diversity, purpose, and culture in brand success.[2][4]
In her role at Adidas, Port spearheaded initiatives like the creation of a multi-faith room at the company's headquarters, addressing the need for inclusive spaces for employees of various religious backgrounds.[5]
In 2017, following her conversion to Islam, Port launched the "Shared Diversity" podcast to explore the intersection of business, branding, and womanhood. The podcast provides resources for diverse founders and talents to build personal brands aligned with their values.[5][6]
Advocacy and Public Speaking
Port is committed to connecting diverse communities with purpose-driven brands. She has led community projects with companies like Adidas, Google, and Zalando, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices.[3]
