History[edit]

Deanna Belos is from Chicago, IL she started playing guitar at the age of eleven years old and is mostly self taught.

The name Sincere Engineer came about when Deanna heard it mentioned by Brendan Kelly from The Lawrence Arms in a 2008 interview. Deanna latch on to it and would use it on all her social media handle names so it just made sense to use “Sincere Engineer” as her band name.

While attending college for dentistry and before releasing “Rhombithian” with her band. She released three solo acoustic EP’s on her Sincere Engineer Bandcamp[8] Deanna songs got the attention Toby Jeg[9] who is the founder of Red Scare Industries and offered her a gig to open for Brendan Kelly, who has been in various bands such as The Falcon and The Lawrence Arms . Which would adencaced her career in the music chicago punk scene. Notably she also got to open up for Alkaline Trio and The Lawrence Arms.[10][11][12]

After performing at a The Fireside Bowl located in Chicago she was approached by Matt Jordan[13] who is also the person that produced and engineered the album “Rhombithian”. Matt offered to improved on her songs alongside a full band. Matt brought aboard Kyle Geib on Guitar , Nick Arvanitis on Bass and Vocals, Adam Beck on Drums and Vocals, lucky enough they were already acquainted from other friends. They would back up Deanna on her album “Rhombithian”.
