Ravneet Chadha[1] is a Kenya based writer, director and filmmaker. She was born and raised in India. She studied Psychology as her Bachelor’s degree. She then went onto to study Business in Toronto, Canada, and lived there for seven years. She is currently married and lives in Nairobi, Kenya with her husband and two children.

Ravneet was in financial services a few years ago, till one day she had a powerful urge to tell her own stories and made the shift from Finance to Filmmaking. She has written, directed and produced four short films. The last film was on the same theme as Subira[2], Subira-short film won 10 international awards worldwide and was distribution in France’s Cinecinema channel ,Spain and Brussels in Europe.

She is currently in the process of releasing Subira, her debut feature film.

Early life[edit]

Ravneet Sippy Chadha was born in Chandigarh, India. She was sent to a British Boarding school at five years of age, in Simla, India.

She felt stifled by the many rules that she had to follow there, very different from her affectionate Punjabi joint family upbringing. Upon reaching adulthood, Sippy had a strong urge to tell her stories[3] where her unique voice would be heard through the powerful medium of films that have a worldwide outreach.

Sippy is married to a Businessman and lives in Nairobi with her two teenage children.
