SLEEEP Technologies is a wellness technology company with locations in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Basel. SLEEEP focuses on its capsule hotels and co-living spaces, but also provides other services and workshops centered around wellness, such as meditation and steam saunas.

History[edit]

SLEEEP was founded in Hong Kong by Jun Rivers and Alex Kot in 2016, in response to a call for proposals from Harvard University for cities of 2030. With rapid urbanisation, space utilisation, sustainability and wellness in mind, SLEEEP became the first licensed capsule hotel in Hong Kong[1]. The three E's in the name symbolise 'Everyone, Everyday, Everywhere.'

Operation Model[edit]

SLEEEP allows customers to book from as little as 45 minutes to a night to months in its co-living space, in an attempt to maximize space-time efficiency. It targets nearby office workers looking for a place to nap[2], or who wish avoid a long commute, as well as travellers and expatriates looking for affordable, minimalist and centrally located accommodation in a city with a very high living cost.
