Charlie Dalgleish, better known by his YouTube moniker Slimecicle is an American internet personality and podcast host. Dalgleish is the most subscribed YouTube channel from the state of Vermont[citation needed] and produces comedy-based variety gaming content on YouTube and Twitch. He continues to post gaming and IRL content on his channels. He is also the founder and co-host of two podcasts: a comedy podcast called Chuckle Sandwich[1], and a Dungeons & Dragons podcast called Just Roll with It.[2]
Personal life[edit]
Dalgleish was born in Virginia on July 12th, 1998.
Dalgleish is currently dating Vermont author Grace Safford, a former magazine writer and current author, working on the manuscript for her first novel.[3] They currently live in Vermont together where they own two guinea pigs, Mochi and Fern.[4]
Dalgleish grew up in Virginia with his younger brother, where he attended Flint High School.[5] He attended Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, where he studied Broadcast Media Production and made the Dean's List.[6] He was also awarded the CCM Dean's Scholarship as a sophomore.[7] His senior year during 2020, he produced a short film entitled Forget Me Not Vermont with two other classmates, which explored the history and culture of local Vermont in years past through the art of music.[8] The project won multiple awards at the Freedom & Unity Young Filmmaker Contest, winning first in the Adult Arts, Culture, History & Contemporary Issues categories.[9]
Career[edit]
YouTube[edit]
Dalgleish created his main channel, Slimecicle, on 18 October 2011[10]. His videos started gaining popularity around 2016 with his gaming series "Inside the Mind of Overwatch Players"[11] in which he reviewed playable characters from the game Overwatch by combining helpful gameplay with comedic, pun-based commentary. He later released a companion series, "Inside the Mind of Smash Bros. Players"[12], in which he used the same format to review playable characters from the Super Smash Bros. series. Both series ran until 2019.
In 2019, Dalgleish joined the Minecraft server SMPLive, meeting and playing alongside many content creators he collaborates with today, including Wilbur Soot, Jschlatt, ConnorEatsPants, Ted Nivison, and others.
In January 2021, Dalgleish joined the roleplay-focused Minecraft server Dream SMP, run by the eponymous YouTuber Dream. He began collaborating with other members of the server, such as TommyInnit and Karl Jacobs. While not very active on the server itself, he is known for playing a character alongside Quackity in the fictional country of Las Nevadas.[13] Dalgleish is also a notable member of other servers, including the EpicSMP,[14] the OriginsSMP,[15] and the short-lived 30 Days SMP.[16] He made a competitive debut in Minecraft Championships 19, the Christmas instalment of the event's second season[17]. His team placed 4th overall[18] and he has the 43rd highest point average of anyone to play the event[19]
On 26 November, 2021, Dalgleish founded Slime Story, his own company which sells clothing and plushies.[20] The nature-inspired brand also plants a tree with every order.[21]
Podcasting[edit]
Just Roll with It[edit]
Just Roll with It, abbreviated to JRWI, is a Dungeons & Dragons podcast created by Dalgleish along with some of his closest friends.
Lunch Club[edit]
Around the time of SMPLive's end, on January 25th, 2020, Dalgleish co-founded the Lunch Club Podcast, a comedy podcasting group featuring CallMeCarson, the founder of SMPLive[22], and six other content creators from the server. After allegations of sexual misconduct were raised against CallMeCarson, the podcast was indefinitely discontinued, with the final video produced by the group releasing on November 11th, 2020 — less than one year after the podcast's founding.[23]
Chuckle Sandwich[edit]
Chuckle Sandwich is an American comedy podcast founded on January 30, 2021, by Jschlatt, Ted Nivison and Slimecicle, all of whom were previously members of the, now defunct, Lunch Club podcast[24] and who have been consistent collaborators with Dalgleish on the YouTube platform over the past few years. The podcasters all live in different US States, so the majority of episodes are recorded digitally over video call. Most episodes involve the co-hosts talking about recent events or comedy-based topics, while others involve interviewing a guest star. The podcast has featured popular creators, past and present: from filmmakers like Freddie Wong to livestreamers like Ludwig Ahgren. On the 54th episode, Slimecicle announced that he had departed the podcast to pursue other projects.[25]
