Slot-based scheduling
Slot-based resource management systems have been used for various fields like high-tech hardware solutions.[1] to road-way traffic management systems[2] and broadcast programming. The concept is also implemented to project management literature as a scheduling method. Accordingly, each time-slot is defined as replaceable qualified human hours required to complete a given task[3]
The method claims to increase project management productivity as:
- Backuped resources decrease the risk of failure and unexpected circumstances
- Minimizing the floats by enlarging the resource diversity
- Focusing on cost management purposes
