Slot-based scheduling

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Slot-based resource management systems have been used for various fields like high-tech hardware solutions.[1] to road-way traffic management systems[2] and broadcast programming. The concept is also implemented to project management literature as a scheduling method. Accordingly, each time-slot is defined as replaceable qualified human hours required to complete a given task[3]

The method claims to increase project management productivity as:

  1. Backuped resources decrease the risk of failure and unexpected circumstances
  2. Minimizing the floats by enlarging the resource diversity
  3. Focusing on cost management purposes
