SmartBarrel is an American construction technology company based in Miami, Florida. It develops a portable, rugged time clock and associated software that uses biometric facial verification to track labor on construction sites and automate timesheets and compliance workflows.[1][2]
History
SmartBarrel was founded in 2016 by Albert Bou Fadel, who previously worked as a construction project manager.[3] The company participated in Dreamit Ventures’ UrbanTech program in 2018.[4]
Products and technology
SmartBarrel’s hardware is designed for outdoor jobsites and pairs with cloud software to verify worker identity using facial biometrics and to generate timecards, daily logs, and payroll exports.[1] The company offers integrations with construction platforms such as Procore.[5]

Analyst trackers report multiple seed and early-stage rounds, including a financing recorded on 5 May 2025.[3][6]
