Snoot game is a Visual Novel made by Cavemanon in late 2021 as a response to the visual novel Goodbye Volcano High and has a very loyal fanbase. The game's description goes as follows "You play as Anon, a lonely, faceless, nobody, reject who finds himself in the dinosaur themed acid trip of a school named Volcano High. Here Anon meets the qt ptero known as Fang and their clown-vomit coloured posse of reject friends and other associated thorns-in-the-side."
Controversies
Due to the Game being an "Anti-fan" game, the original game's fans have been unhappy with the game's success, with many more biased articles, E.g., Kotaku's November 2022 article, which states that "It’s an extraordinary situation where a bigoted and angry response game has come out over a year ahead of the game it was “inspired” by. This anti-LGBT 4chan project has created consternation for both Goodbye Volcano High’s original developers, and its community." This article has been garnered in either good or bad views depending on who you ask. A popular meme on Gbvh and Snoot game is of Fang (the main character of Gbvh and later Snoot game) doing a school shooting, however Snoot game actually made this meme into one of its 4 endings, which made people link Snoot game and its 4chan roots to pro school shooting, e.g. Kotaku's November 2022 article which said "One playable ending also has them shooting up their high school—a reference to a Goodbye Volcano High meme that gained traction on 4chan after the game’s announcement. It’s not exactly subtle."
Story line
The story line follows the main (playable) character, Anon, as he goes to Volcano High and meets the many characters there, including Gbvh's main character Fang and their cohort. During the game many events transpire which dictate the game's 4 endings (1 being the worst and 4 being the best).
Development History
Development started in 2021 after the PlayStation presentation, which included Gbvh. Later in mid to late 2022, Snoot game would release to positive reception.
